Holiday Attractions on the Lycian Coast

Around the Lycian Coast there are many things to do as well as simply sunbathing on the lovely beaches. Activities include all types of water sports, aerial activities, land sports, visiting archaeological and spectacular sites and also great shopping for clothes and jewellery.

Along the Mediterranean Turquoise Coast there is paragliding at Olu Deniz, microlights, windsurfing, kite-surfing, sailing, swimming, water-skiing and scuba diving near Fethiye. While inland there is walking, mountain biking, quad biking, jeep safaris, horse riding and bird-watching. Also take in the ancient cities around the Lycian Coast such as Tlos, Xanthos, Patara, Cadianda - the list is endless!

Tours around the Mediterranean Turquoise Coast

Many operators offer Fethiye Bay boat trips around the 12 islands, to Gocek marina and to Saklikent Gorge for water rafting and mud baths - you can also take a day trip to Rhodes by a fast ferry. Take a tour to the Pamukkale hot springs for the spectacular limestone scenery. The International Air Games during October has aerobatic displays and many competitors paragliding at Olu Deniz. Water Sports Tuition Courses in Kite-surfing, Sailing and Scuba Diving near Fethiye are part of our efforts to make your holiday a memorable occasion. All courses are local taking 3-4 days, are run by experienced and qualified instructors, and participants are provided with qualifications for completed courses. Fethiye Town and Harbour

Fethiye can be reached using the Dolmus minibuses or it is an easy 25 minute drive to a bustling port with lots to offer including modern supermarkets and the famous Tuesday market. By the harbour you can walk by the boats or relax in the many bars and teahouses while in the Old Town there are shops offering quality leather goods, carpets and designer clothes - and the Turkish Bath (Hamam) is a must!

There are good restaurants of all types and an excellent food market has meat and fish at very low prices. Fethiye Town (Telmessos) is steeped in history and you can see Lycian tombs cut out of the mountainside above a Roman amphitheatre - see the Travel/Links page.


Olu Deniz Blue Lagoon, Calis Beach & Patara Beach

Calis Beach is a 20 minute drive to a 5km shingle beach with many bars, restaurants and a water park - you can also get to Fethiye Town by water taxi. Olu Deniz, Hisaronu and Kaya Koy are all a short distance from Fethiye. Watch the paragliding at Olu Deniz and visit the Blue Lagoon with its sandy beaches. Lively Hisaronu has night clubs, restaurants and tourist shops and nearby Kaya Koy ghost village was deserted after the population exchange. Patara Beach is one hour away, on the road to Kas and Kalkan, with a 20km unspoilt sandy beach, Lycian tombs and Roman ruins - see the Travel/Links page.
